Former inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said he was prepared to be investigated over the 1MDB matter.
“I am still on duty and I am ready to offer my full cooperation with regards to any issue, including any investigation process involving me,” he was quoted as saying by New Straits Times.
Khalid was appointed as Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chairperson last year after retiring from the police force.
He was part of the special task force investigating the multi-billion ringgit deposits in then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank account and the 1MDB matter.
International investigators believe the deposits originated from 1MDB but Najib claimed the money was a "donation" from a member of the Saudi Arabia royal family.
He denied wrongdoing or taking public funds for personal gain.
During the course of the investigation, MACC officers looking into the 1MDB matter were arrested by police while others were transferred.
The then attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail was also removed and replaced with former Court of Appeal judge Mohamed Apandi Ali, who cleared Najib of wrongdoing.
Najib led BN to its first defeat after 61 years in power during the May 9 general election.
Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor have since been barred from leaving the country under the new Pakatan Harapan government. -Mkini
