Hannah Yeoh maintains her winning streak in new seat

SEGAMBUT: Pakatan Harapan has retained the Segambut parliamentary seat for the third term with an even bigger majority.
DAP’s Hannah Yeoh (pic) polled 53,124 votes, winning with a 45,702-vote majority in GE14.
Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Loga Bala Mohan (MyPPP) and PAS’ Mohd Solleh Ab Razak garnered 7,422 votes and 4,181 votes respectively.
In GE13, Lim Lip Eng (DAP) won in Segambut by a 19,199-vote majority.
“This win is beyond my imagination. What’s surprising to note is, in the places that we used to lose, we won,” Yeoh said.
“I would have been happy to just get the same majority as the last round. Three-cornered fights can be tricky.
“But I want to thank the people of Segambut for coming out strong,” she added.
Segambut saw a total voter turnout of 65,265, of which 289 votes were rejected, and 249 unreturned.
The percentage of voters casting their votes was 83.7% of a total number of 77,956 registered voters.
Yeoh will be going round the constituency over the next few days to thank voters for their support.
On top of her to-do list is catching a few winks and to set up a service centre in Segambut.
Asked if she had plans to move to Segambut, she said: “I think it’s not about where I live but about the level of service that we can offer to the residents of Segambut. We’re not running away.”- Star
