MACC report lodged against SUPP for allegedly 'receiving 1MDB funds'

Sarawak PKR has lodged a MACC report against SUPP for allegedly receiving at least RM1 million in funds purportedly misappropriated from 1MDB.

Stampin PKR youth chief Jeffrey Moh Kui Chung said the money originated from the then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank account in 2012.

"We were notified by the (MACC) officer-in-charge that since 1MDB is one of the biggest scandals, any reports concerning the troubled state fund will be sent directly to the 1MDB taskforce," he was quoted as saying by Borneo Post.

Mok's allegation was based on leaked investigation papers after the probe was scuttled by the previous BN government.

SUPP allegedly received two tranches of RM500,000 deposit each from Najib's personal bank account in February 2012 and March 2013.

The party allegedly received another RM500,000 and later another RM2 million, also in March 2013, bringing the total to RM3.5 million.

The account was the same which Najib received funds from SRC International, a former subsidiary of 1MDB. -Mkini
