KUALA LUMPUR— Pakatan Harapan is expected to win 111 out of the 165 Parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia, think-tank Invoke Malaysia (Invoke) predicted in its latest survey results released today.
Based on its latest study conducted over two weeks ending on May 4, Invoke predicted that Pakatan will sweep all the states in the West Coast except for Perlis, with Barisan Nasional regaining Kelantan after a 28-year gap, and also winning comfortably in Pahang and Terengganu.
Invoke said that the predictions were made based on a survey conducted on 11,991 voters nationwide.
PH is expected to win Selangor and Penang with a resounding majority, winning all the parliamentary and state seats in Selangor and also all the parliamentary seats and 38 state seats in Penang, the study found.
In addition, it will also win Kedah, Perak, Melaka, Negri Sembilan and the Umno’s long-held bastion of Johor- where they are expected to win 39 out of the 56 state seats.
However, PH’s fortunes in the east coast is a complete contrast to the west, as they are only expected to win two parliamentary seats from both Kelantan and Terengganu combined.
BN is expected to win both states with a resounding two-thirds majority, taking back Kelantan after 28 years under PAS rule. It will also retain Pahang with a simple majority, winning 27 out of the 42 state seats.
The study predicted that PAS will be left without a seat at both state and federal level for the whole of Peninsular Malaysia.
