The former prime minister says his statement on SRC is more detailed than the one he gave in 2015, and that questioning will resume on Thursday.
BREAKING NEWS
PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak today spent more than five hours at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), to answer questions related to the 1MDB-linked SRC International and the RM42 million that made its way into his private account.
Speaking briefly to the media, Najib said his statement today on SRC International was more detailed than the one he gave three years ago.
“I had given a statement on the SRC issue to MACC in 2015. My statement today is a follow-up of that,” Najib told scores of local and foreign journalists thronged outside the entrance of the MACC headquarters.
Najib said he was questioned for over four hours, from 10am to about 2.15pm, before he was allowed a break.
Earlier, MACC chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull, speaking to the press at the same time Najib was giving his statement, denied intense speculation that the former leader would be arrested by the anti-graft body.
Najib also thanked the MACC team, describing them as professional.
He said the investigation involving him will continue on Thursday, but a large part was completed today. -FMT
