It is caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak who should be tried and punished under the Anti Fake News Act 2018, says Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Speaking to a crowd of some 20,000 people in Kuantan, the former prime minister says this is over the “lie” that Najib told about the RM2.6 billion found in his personal accounts being from an Arab donor.
Earlier today, it was reported that Mahathir is being probed by the police for allegedly spreading ‘fake news’ over his claim that the jet he chartered to fly to Langkawi last Friday was sabotaged.
Mahathir also took aim at PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, calling him a “big liar.”
“PAS supports Najib for certain reasons… for money it receives from BN. Once he called Umno kafir, now he is denying he ever said that,” he says.
Mahathir urges the crowd to not give a single vote to the dacing (BN) or the moon (PAS) and only choose the PKR symbol, the common logo for Harapan.
Air Itam, Penang – A crowd of 10,000 gathers on the field of Han Chiang University College of Communication for a Harapan grand ceramah.
Coming from Juru, Lim Guan Eng and Lim Kit Siang will address the supporters gathered there.
Pantai Jerejak candidate Saifuddin Nasution Ismail reminds voters that there are two aims during the polling day on May 9.
“Firstly, we musf defend the state government, secondly we must deliver all 13 parliamentary seats to capture Putrajaya.
“This round, we not only need to retain the 30 seats, but bag all 40 seats in Penang,” he added.
He adds that the Harapan-led caretaker state government has a proven record, so Penangites shouldn’t take the risk to return the mandate to BN.
Harapan collected RM43,495.65 in donations at the ceramah tonight.
