Registrar of Societies (ROS) chief Surayati Ibrahim said she is still conducting her duty as per usual.
This was because she has yet to receive any instructions from the new Pakatan Harapan government.
"I have not been instructed on any actions, and to date, I am still carrying out my duties as usual," she was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
Surayati presided over a controversial period at the ROS, including threats of deregistration against Bersatu and DAP.
The DAP's registration woes were resolved after it conducted a third party election.
However, Bersatu was slapped with a provisional deregistration which was stayed by the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
Surayati also granted Umno an extension for its party election, beyond the term allowed by the Umno constitution.
As a result, Umno had set the party election to be held on April 19, 2019.
Umno elections are held triennially, with the last election results being announced on Oct 20, 2013.
This would mean that the next election should have been held by Oct 20, 2016, at the latest.
However, as the Umno constitution allowed for an 18-month extension, the term of the office bearers expired on April 19, 2018. -Mkini
