MACC chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull revealed that the commission's top brass had met with the Conference of Rulers twice on the RM2.6 billion issue.
However, he said both meetings in 2015 ended in disappointment.
"We met with the Conference of Rulers twice. Twice we had an audience with them.
"But we were disappointed," he told reporters at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya today.
The meetings took place when the MACC was actively pursuing the case.
MACC had pleded with the rulers to look into the matter, he added.
