Mohd Shukri Abdull says investigations into the case involving SRC International will end soon.
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is confident that its investigation into SRC International will be concluded soon, as the anti-graft body questions former prime minister Najib Razak who arrived here this morning.
MACC chief Mohd Shukri Abdull said he was expecting two more key witnesses.
“Two more witnesses and you will get your story,” he told a packed press conference at the MACC headquarters, his first since returning to head the commission after a silence of three years since his role in investigating the 1MDB scandal was abruptly ended by the former administration.
Najib has been questioned by MACC officers since his arrival at the agency’s headquarters at about 9.20am.
When asked to reveal what transpired in the session with Najib today, Shukri refused to reveal details.
“He was only questioned, nothing else happened.”
Earlier, Shukri said he had received threats on his life during the course of MACC’s earlier investigation into SRC International and 1MDB in 2015.
Among them was receiving bullets in the mail “nearly every day”.
“But I’ve never told anyone about that until today.”
He said no police reports were lodged because he did not want to attract attention.
“I roughly know who the threats came from. I didn’t report it to the police then, but I might now.” -FMT
