Highway toll collection at the Sungai Besi toll plaza operated by the Plus Malaysia Berhad will be reduced between one to 50 percent effective tomorrow, said the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) today.
This comes as the toll concession period for two stretches of highway - namely the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway and the Salak Expressway - expires.
"With the end of the concession period for the particular stretches, toll payment for all entries and exits at the Sungai Besi toll plaza will be reduced by between 50 to one percent (or 40 sen to RM1.70) depending on the length of travel and vehicle class," MHA said in a statement.
However, road users must still pay the toll for the remaining stretches of the Plus Expressway, it said.
"Users who pass the Sungai Besi Toll plaza will still need to pay the toll for the Plus Expressway stretches according to the stretch that they use," it said.
"The end (of this concession) will benefit 130,000 vehicles that pass the toll plaza daily," it added. -Mkini
