PUTRAJAYA— The new Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) chief has accused two former Minister in Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan of conspiring against him and did not have his back when he was removed from his position.
In his tell-all press conference, Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull said he was crying like a baby in Washington when he heard his men and other officers in the 1MDB team then was told to go on leave and transferred out.
“I WhatsApp-ed Shahidan Kassim and Paul Low. I said please return my men or not I will return and use my lawyers to fight this.
“Shahidan said exactly ‘brother don’t do anything, let me settle. I promise to return your men’.
“Paul Low said the same. But I told them I will use my power to save my men be it if I was arrested , I will do this for them and the country,” a emotional Shukri told a hall of more than 100 foreign and local media.
Only current Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and ex-Tambun MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah were the brave ones to have his back and voiced out against the former administration, he said.
“I explained to all the ministers then even though I was facing mounting threats, that the RM42 million scandal with SRC and RM2.6 billion is true. It was not made up.
“I told them throw Najib, replace him with ministers like Zahid or Hishammuddin then.
“I told them this is huge. It’s too huge to be protected. We worked so hard to reveal all this. Even the US is ready to return the money.
“But, this one person known as ‘Cash King’ said he will arrest me if I continued standing on my grounds and I was slandered with helping in conspiracy against the government then,” he said. – MALAY MAIL
Shukri calls former MACC chief Dzulkifli a traitor
KUALA LUMPUR ― The new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief today labelled the agency’s former head as a “traitor”, accusing him of protecting those who violated the law.
In a tell-all press conference today, Datuk Seri Shukri Abdull ― who was at the centre of the investigation on the RM2.6 billion Arab donation and the RM42 million fund credited into formerprime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s private account, said that he could not bear to work under now ex-MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, whom he said lacked integrity.
“I didn’t want to work under him because I take him to be a traitor to the nation.
“A DPP must work to make case stronger, not protect those who are wrong.
“He should tell me what proof was needed to strengthenthe case. Not protect the wrong.
“And when he came here, he was appointed as my superior. I said, this is a big mistake and I can’t work under a traitor,” a clearly emotional Shukri told the hoards of press members, in a special session today.
