In a Hari Raya video, Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim stressed that the people's trust in the coalition should not be in vain.
Among others, the 2 minutes 30 seconds clip featured a conversation between Anwar and his daughter Nurul Nuha, who asks about his plan after being released from prison.
“Let us rest first, papa,” she says, to which Anwar responds, “Rest?”
“I have rested long enough in prison. Now it's time for us to continue working. People are waiting.
“The people have entrusted us with a task, and if we do not execute it, their support would have been in vain.
“If we think of our comfort, then it would be the same as the old regime,” he adds.
Anwar emphasises that the objectives are to ease the burden of the people and to make democracy in Malaysia more meaningful for the people.
“If not, it would not have any meaning apart from (having) our freedom and a new government. We have to continue just a little more. Insyallah, may Allah bless this,” he adds.
Anwar's wife, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail then joins the conversation, saying things are tougher now that Harapan has won the general election.
"We must fulfil all our promises. Why? Because we want to make our victory meaningful, and with the people's support we can make it happen," she says.
The three then share a hug before the scene cuts to a family dinner.
The video ends with Hari Raya Aidilfitri wishes from the entire Anwar family.
