Ijok assemblyperson Idris Ahmad has denied accusations that he was involved in the cheating of National Higher Education Loan Fund (PTPTN) through a college linked to him.
It was claimed that the chief operating officer of the college had reported Idris’ alleged involvement to the MACC and Education Ministry.
However, Idris said he had contacted the chief executive officer of the college who denied there was any such case.
Idris had earlier today lodged a police report over the matter.
“I have referred to my lawyer who asked me to lodge a police report for further action as the spread of this claim can impact my dignity and standing as an elected representative.
“I deny I was involved as claimed in the circulated report which is untrue and a slander against me,” read the police report.

When contacted, Idris confirmed that he reported the matter to the cops.
Petaling Jaya district police headquarters deputy chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmud, when contacted by Malaysiakini, also confirmed receiving the report.
Idris was one of three potential candidates for the Selangor menteri besar post.
The other two are Sungai Tua assemblyperson Amirudin Shari and Seri Setia assemblyperson Shaharuddin Baharuddin.
Businessperson Shamsubahrin Ismail, who is organising a press conference for Idris tomorrow to clarify the matter, alleged that it was an attempt to thwart his candidacy as Selangor menteri besar.
“It concerns a move to lower Idris’ dignity and his good image at the last minute so that he is not appointed as Selangor menteri besar,” he claimed.
Amirudin is the front-runner for Selangor menteri besar and was earlier today spotted at Istana Alam Shah, where the swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow.
The new menteri besar will replace Azmin Ali, who will be serving as economic affairs minister in the federal government.
