The prices for fixed broadband in Malaysia are expected to be reduced by 25 per cent, announced Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo today.
At a press conference at the ministry's headquarters in Putrajaya, Gobind said this follows the implementation of the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP) which was enforced by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on June 8.
"The relevant parties are currently in commercial discussions to finalise their wholesale prices," he said.
Gobind expected to see the new prices ready by the end of August.
