MB: Extra allowance for Johor opposition leader will be in 'thousands'

Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian said the incoming state opposition leader Hasni Mohammad will receive an extra allowance in "thousands" of ringgit.

Osman said this was not the case under the previous BN administration. 

“In the past, they did not have it. Now we give.

"We haven't decided the figure, maybe thousands. But it has not been finalised yet (by the state executive council),” he told Malaysiakini after attending the national financial council meeting at the Treasury in Kuala Lumpur today.

Asked whether Hasni will be appointed the state public accounts committee (PAC) chief, Osman said that decision will also depend on the state exco's approval.

“We don't know yet. We have not met to make the decision."

Previously, Osman announced that all 56 state assemblypersons, regardless of party affiliation, will share the RM2.8 million annual allocation to run their service centres.  -Mkini
