Wan Azizah: Amirudin was part of our MB proposal, so no issues

Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail dismissed claims that the appointment of Amirudin Shari as the new Selangor menteri besar was without consensus from Pakatan Harapan.
The PKR president pointed out that from the outset, Amirudin's name was already included in the list of candidates that were submitted to the Selangor palace.
"I think the issue (of not having consensus) does not arise as one of the proposed candidates was Amirudin.
"He has already been sworn in so we should focus on managing the state government with the current exco line-up," she told journalists at her office in Putrajaya today.
Earlier, Wan Azizah had met with Amirudin after he was sworn in as the new Selangor menteri besar.
Hours before the swearing-in this morning, Ijok assemblyperson Dr Idris Ahmad called a press conference claiming that the new menteri besar was not endorsed by Harapan parties.
Idris, who was one of the proposed menteri besar candidates, claimed the component parties had instead backed him to lead Selangor.
Wan Azizah, however, dismissed Idris' comment as his personal view.
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had also thrown his support behind Amirudin after the Selangor sultan picked him to lead the state.

Meanwhile, Amirudin, in his first act as Selangor menteri besar, hoped to resolve the dispute with Football Association of Selangor (FAS) over the usage of the Shah Alam stadium.
The Sungai Tua assemblyperson declined to provide details but said the matter will likely be resolved within a month. -Mkini
