KOTA BHARU – Rafizi Ramli revealed tonight that PKR will be vacating a parliamentary seat next week to pave way for the party’s president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest.
Speaking at PKR’s Reformasi 20 Tahun event, here, the party’s deputy president hopeful said Anwar would return to Parliament in the near future.
He said efforts to make Anwar a member of Parliament was to complete the party’s hard work in seeing the former deputy prime minister take on the role of the country’s prime minister.
“Our first step in making Anwar party president bore fruit. Our next step is to make him a member of Parliament.
“This is because many are questioning, saying that Anwar is a nobody, not an MP, and merely a former prisoner.
“So I want to tell the people in Kelantan that next week, one Parliament seat will be vacated to make way for Anwar to contest,” he said.
He then joked that if PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali or the party’s Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin did not want to give up their seats, many others were willing to do so.
