EVER TWISTED, EVER LOW-MENTALITY – NO WONDER UMNO LOST & LOST BADLY: 18K VOTES MAJORITY IN BALAKONG BUT ANNUAR MUSA SAYS CHINESE TOO LAZY TO VOTE BECAUSE THEY NOW HAVE ‘EVERYTHING’ – WHILE ‘VICTIMS’ MALAYS WILL HAVE TO KEEP FIGHTING HARAPAN TO DEFEND THEIR RIGHTS

Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa said the outcome of the Seri Setia and Balakong by-elections was “as predicted”, claiming that Chinese voters no longer bothered to vote while Malay voters were motivated to back the opposition.
Whether a particular group voted or not depended upon their satisfaction, he said in his Facebook posting.
Annuar then alluded to Malays supposedly being oppressed while Chinese purportedly being content with the current state of affairs under the Pakatan Harapan government.
“It is obvious who have become the victims of Pakatan Harapan today. Who are the government servants who were sacked and chastised? Who are the Felda settlers who were lied to? Who are the fishermen who were victimised?
“Who are the one being imposed with the sales and services tax (SST)? Who are the ones who have to pay PTPTN? Who are the rulers that are being insulted? Who (occupies) the syariah courts?
“Who are the muftis, haj pilgrims under Yayasan 1MDB, Special Affairs Department (Jasa) and Community Development Department (Kemas)? Whose language is being belittled? Who is being affected by the bumiputera/migrant status? Whose religion is being insulted?” he asked.
However, Annuar said it was a different scenario for another group who is “satisfied” with the current situation.
“It is they who benefit when there is no goods and services tax (GST). It is they who benefit when the tax system is weak. It is they who benefit when the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) is recognised.
“It is they who benefit when they receive land titles for 999 years. It is they who benefit when there is an open tender. It is they who benefit when they gain positions in the cabinet. It is they who benefit when the other parties quarrel,” he added.
The Seri Setia and Balakong by-elections yesterday saw Harapan retaining both state seats.
While Harapan’s performance in the Chinese-majority Balakong improved, it saw a decline in vote share in Seri Setia.
Harapan won Seri Setia with 13,755 votes to PAS’ 9,698 votes while in Balakong, Harapan garnered 22,058 votes to MCA’s 3,975 votes.
