The Indian Malaysians dream is somewhat shattered by Minister P. Waythamoorthy's statement that he is forming a political party MAP for Indians.
The article by Commander (Rtd) S. Thayaparan in Malaysiakini today, "Indian Malaysians do not need a party to represent them" must be good food for thought and appreciated.
Indians have come a long way from being deprived of chances to live a normal average life in Malaysia after been "chased out" from the estates where they used to work and live. Many have now become "gangsters", turning to vice to keep themselves afloat and have become a menace to society.
Only a small number could afford to educate their children and uplift their lives. Many brilliant Indian children were not given assistance to pursue to further their studies so that they could also uplift the lives.
Most educational assistance never ever reached the targeted group but were only given to a selected political group.
When Minister P. Waythamoorthy and his Hindraf then, proposed the introduction of a Indian Blueprint, many Indians were happy that that least now every Indian would be able to enjoy the fruit of their harvest, not just a selected group.
Now this dream is again shattered!!!
Hope Minister P. Waythamoorthy will reconsider his plans to form a political party and concentrate on fulfilling the Indian Blueprint thru direct contact with the targeted deserving groups.
