BN Senator Mustapa Kamal Mohd Yussoff has offered to participate in raids on clubs which cater for gays.
According to him, homosexuality is a “disease which must be dealt with”.
The Seputeh Umno division chief told the Dewan Negara this after Deputy Federal Territories Minister Shahruddin Md Salleh spoke about the raid on the iconic Blue Boy Club at Jalan Sultan Ismail last month.
Thanking the ministry for the raid, Mustapha noted how men were holding hands with each other and then proceeded to do a kissing gesture using both his hands.
"Without strict action to deal with the matter, the disease will spread to (other) citizens because even school children are involved.
"If there are other gay clubs in the city which are unknown, I volunteer to be among our friends to eliminate or to reduce the problem as I am worried about the disease," he added during the winding up of the royal decree debate by the Federal Territories Ministry.
Meanwhile, Shahruddin (photo), who thanked Mustapha for volunteering to participate in the raids, warned the senator that his “sado” (muscular) build would make him popular among gay men.
"Gay clubs like men who are good looking and with 'sado' bodies. Don't sue me for saying this. A body like YB Mustapa's will be attractive to gays..,” added the Sri Gading MP with a laugh.
Besides Blue Boy Club, the deputy minister said there are six other gay clubs in Kuala Lumpur.
According to him, Blue Boy Club became popular through its promotion on social media and due to European gay men seeking Asian partners.
At this juncture, BN senator Khairudin ES Abd Samad stood up and said, "That's scary, but how about when a woman touches another woman?"
The question had Shahruddin in laughter.
"I don't have information what will happen when two women touch each other and there is no reason for me to provide a written reply,” he said. - Mkini
