2 workers crushed to death by boxes of kurma

GEORGE TOWN: Two Bangladeshi men died on the spot after they were crushed by boxes of dates at a warehouse in Bukit Mertajam.

The 11am incident occurred when the two men were moving out large boxes of dates stored on the top shelf of a three-tier storage shelf at the warehouse at the Bukit Minyak Industrial Park.

A Penang Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the men were crushed when the shelves gave way.

Tthe men, who were identified as Ali Md Baker, 32, and Rabbani Borhan Uddin, 26, were taken to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival. - FMT
