'Allah chose Sandakan voters to give warning to Harapan'

SANDAKAN POLLS | God is giving the Sandakan voters the opportunity to give a stern warning to the Pakatan Harapan government for failing to fulfil its promises, claimed Umno supreme council member Abdul Rahman Dahlan (above).
Addressing a crowd of about 100 people at Jambatan 3, Kampung Sim Sim at Sandakan yesterday, he said other places in Sabah were not given this opportunity to teach the government a lesson.
"Today, our objective is to ensure that PBS wins against DAP. You can create a miracle given this huge opportunity.
"Allah Subhanahu Wa ta'ala has given the opportunity to Sandakan, something which Tuaran, Kota Belud, Tenom, Putatan or Kinabatangan don't have.
"You are chosen by Allah to warn and remind the government to stop lying to the people," Abdul Rahman said.
He called on Malay voters supporting Pakatan Harapan not to worry about casting their votes for PBS candidate Linda Tsen as a win for her would not change the federal government.
"To those who favour Pakatan Harapan, don't worry. The government will not change. What we want is for the PBS candidate to represent the opposition in bringing the voice of people in Sandakan to Parliament."
Sabah Umno chairperson Bung Moktar Radin (above) echoed Abdul Rahman's sentiments.
"On May 11 (the voting day), if we want a change, this is the time for us Sabahans to change our future.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I agree with my friend (Abdul Rahman) that the people in Sandakan have been given a second opportunity. You will never get another opportunity.
"This is the time we bring down the rocket," said the Kinabatangan MP, referring to the DAP logo.
Abdul Rahman also chided Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, who he said had taken credit for the expansion project of the Sandakan airport which was approved by the previous BN government.
"This is not his idea. This is ours. The suggestion to expand the Sandakan airport was made when former chief minister Musa Aman went to see the then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak to ask for help from the federal government.
"When I was the minister-in-charge of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), the allocation which Lim had mentioned was approved by us."
Abdul Rahman said the project, however, had not been initiated due to problems, including the tender process.
Tsen is up against DAP's Vivian Wong and three other independent candidates, namely Hamzah Abdullah, Sulaiman Abdul Samat and Chia Siew Yung.
Voting day is this Saturday. - Mkini
