Dr M: Those who want MB as Johor Bersatu chief have not met me

INTERVIEW | Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said none of the Johor Bersatu leaders involved in a rumoured revolt over the appointment of its state chief met him on the matter.
"They have not come to me," the Bersatu chairperson told a special media interview in Putrajaya this afternoon.
He was responding to a group of Johor Bersatu chiefs who reached a consensusyesterday that Johor Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal should be appointed as the party state chief over Puteri Wangsa assemblyperson Mazlan Bujang.
Mahathir said the matter was also not raised during his recent meeting with Sahruddin and the Johor state executive council members.
"The last time I saw the exco of Johor, they were not making any complaints at all," he added.
It is understood that Mahathir received a courtesy visit from Mazlan and the excos last Friday at Yayasan Al-Bukhary in Kuala Lumpur, where the former later chaired a Harapan presidential council meeting.
Malaysiakini reported yesterday that 23 of 26 Johor Bersatu division chiefs attended a meeting in Johor Bahru, called by former menteri besar Osman Sapian.
The meeting led to speculation that Osman was seeking to make a comeback as Johor Bersatu chief, a post he lost after resigning as menteri besar following a fall out with the central leadership.
This was despite Mazlan having received his appointment letter as the new Johor Bersatu chief.
