PETALING JAYA: Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim has stepped down as the Johor PKR chief, a coalition representing the state chapter’s divisions has confirmed.
It is understood that state party leaders want Batu Pahat MP Rashid Hasnon to head Johor PKR.
It is believed Hassan submitted his resignation letter last week.
“Majority of the division leaders have submitted a proposal to Anwar Ibrahim for Rashid to be the next PKR Johor chief,” said Johor Division Chiefs Coalition’s spokesman, Kluang PKR chief Mark Mathew.
Hassan had reluctantly accepted the top post in the wake of the resignation of Nurul Izzah Anwar as the PKR vice-president last December. - FMT
