All polling centres for the Kinabatangan and Lamag by-elections have closed at 5.30pm today.
Earlier, the first two ballot boxes for the Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election arrived at the official vote-counting centre at Dewan Sri Lamag, Kinabatangan, at 3pm.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Inarad polling station head Ronny @ Sior Bataim, accompanied by Election Commission officers, brought the ballot boxes by helicopter, which were then taken to the centre under police guard.
The Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election saw a three-cornered contest between BN candidate Kurniawan Naim Moktar, Saddi Abdul Rahman (Warisan) and Goldam Hamid (Independent).
For the Lamag state by-election, it is a straight fight between Ismail Ayob (BN) and Mazliwati Abdul Malek (Warisan).
The by-elections were held following the death of the incumbent MP and assemblyperson Bung Moktar Radin on Dec 5 last year.
