SEREMBAN: Police have received a report concerning the alleged abuse of a three-year-old boy at a daycare centre in Seremban 2 Heights.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim said the victim's mother, in her 30s, lodged the report yesterday at 11.31pm after receiving information and images via social media showing redness on her child's left cheek.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident is believed to have occurred in June last year while the boy was at the daycare centre.

"Police have recorded statements from four witnesses, including caregivers and the centre's manager. Investigations are ongoing to ensure that those responsible are dealt with in accordance with the law," he said in a statement today.

Azahar said that the case was being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
