KUALA LUMPUR: The importance of the year-long restoration of Block 1 of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (BSAS) is not merely about preserving its structure but ensuring history lives on, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said it was important for history to be understood and serve as a guide in facing future challenges.
Anwar also said the reopening of Block 1 reflected the government's push for a modern and dynamic Kuala Lumpur rooted in history and values.
The completion of Block 1 at the BSAS marks the first finished phase under the wider restoration of the BSAS Complex, with works centred on safeguarding the structure's character while enhancing safety, accessibility and overall visitor experience.
"We must also ensure that Malaysians can enjoy these facilities.
