Deaf e-hailing driver goes extra mile to return phone

KUALA LUMPUR: What could have been a stressful loss turned into a heartwarming moment of kindness, thanks to a deaf e-hailing driver whose honesty has captured the hearts of netizens.

Threads user @haagendazs_choc shared her experience with an e-hailing driver, identified as Mr Yoo, who went out of his way to return her father's phone accidentally left in his car.

She wrote that Mr Yoo only realised the phone had been left behind after travelling a considerable distance and made the effort to return it to their home.

"My father's phone was left in his car. He only realised it after travelling some distance and drove back to return it to our home. Thank you, kind person," she wrote.

In the comments section, she added that she had tipped the driver and the post was meant to highlight drivers with good hearts.

Other social media users joined in sharing their positive experiences.

User @Stlla.aaaa said: "He is a good driver, I've had him before.

"He keeps making the "sorry" sign because the road is jammed. It is not his fault and he always smiles."

@Khairul_nizam1986 said: "This is my friend. A former colleague from Sogo. He's now a full-time Grab driver, he's indeed a kind person."

Lueeta_0_o added: "May Mr Yoo be blessed with abundant sustenance and may the traffic lights always turn green." - NST
