From July 1, subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre will be available nationally under the BUDI Diesel programme.

The move is part of several adjustments to the expanded diesel subsidy programme which will begin on July 1.
Among them are:
- a three-month exemption on fees for the transfer of diesel vehicle ownership; and
- expansion of the BUDI Diesel programme to company-owned pickup trucks and diesel-engine cars to benefit those who use such vehicles for small businesses, daily travel and activities in rural areas;
The finance ministry said the fee exemption will allow diesel vehicle owners to update registration records to reflect the actual users of the vehicles.
As data for vehicle registration and active road tax are among the criteria for subsidy eligibility, the road transport department (JPJ) will open service counters on weekends from 8am to 5pm between July 4 and July 26 at all state and urban transformation centre JPJ offices.
The ministry said the mechanism for diesel vehicle ownership transfers will be announced later. - FMT
