KUALA LUMPUR: Hiker Jaslinda Saludin, who was found safe after being reported missing during a trekking expedition in Perak, will be sent to Tapah Hospital for further medical assessment.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon said Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) units had been deployed to transport her to hospital.
"The hospital will determine whether she requires further treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh," she said.
Earlier, Sayani said the villager who found Jaslinda immediately informed his nephew in Johor, who then lodged a report with the authorities.
She added that the victim was currently safe and had been temporarily placed at the Tok Batin's house in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu.
Meanwhile, Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said they received information at 4.55pm that the victim had been found safe by an Orang Asli resident in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh, Tapah.
"The victim was found conscious and was given initial assistance and food before police arranged further action, including medical checks," he said.
Alwi added that the search and rescue (SAR) operation, which began on May 24 following Jaslinda's disappearance during a hike at Gunung Batu Putih, had been officially called off.
He also thanked all agencies, volunteers, the Orang Asli community and members of the public who assisted in the operation.
