Gentari making EV charging as simple as “Plug-in, Charge and Go” with Auto-Charge Gentari Go

 

CLEAN energy solutions outfit Gentari has unveiled a major update to its Gentari Go mobile app with installation of an AutoCharge feature for all Gentari Go users alongside a refreshed rewards structure and enhanced security features.

AutoCharge is now available at selected Gentari Direct Current (DC) fast chargers nationwide.

After a one-time set-up, this feature enables compatible electric vehicles (EVs) to automatically authenticate by linking the user’s account with their registered vehicle, thus allowing charging to begin with no app required.

The removal of repeated app activation, RFID cards or QR code scanning makes public charging more accessible across supported vehicle brands and charging locations nationwide.

The AutoCharge functions can be made available in three simple steps:

1. Plug-in: User connects the DC cable to their EV.
2. Auto-authenticate: Vehicle is automatically verified.
3. Charge: Session begins instantly. No app is needed.

“Malaysia’s EV ecosystem is entering a phase where everyday user experience matters as much as infrastructure expansion,” commented Gentari’s chief green mobility officer Fadzrul Ahmad.

“AutoCharge removes the need for multiple apps and manual steps, thus making public charging simpler, faster and more intuitive for EV drivers. The result is exactly what it should be: Plug-in, Charge and Go.”

To mark the launch, the first 500 users who successfully enrol and complete their first AutoCharge session will receive RM10 in Gentari Go credits.

AutoCharge will be rolled out progressively across Gentari’s nationwide network, particularly along key travel corridors and urban locations.

Gentari currently operates more than 600 EV charging points across Malaysia while the Gentari Go Roaming Hub provides users with access to more than 18,000 charging points across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and India by enabling seamless charging wherever drivers travel.

The updated Gentari Go app is available from July 1. Drivers can update their app, enrol in AutoCharge and verify their mobile number in just a few minutes to unlock the latest experience. –  Focus Malaysia
