Let's debate - Bersatu strategist dares crafters of BN manifesto

Bersatu strategist Rais Hussin has challenged those responsible for crafting BN's manifesto for the 14th general election to a debate.
The dare comes in the wake of various allegations hurled at Pakatan Harapan's manifesto, which was unveiled last week.
This included the claim that Malaysia would suffer a deficit if the GST is abolished, as promised by the opposition coalition.
Rais said prior to compiling its manifesto, Harapan had constructive engagements with the relevant stakeholders.
“We did the research and met with stakeholders from various groups. Our manifesto is complete.
“So once BN unveils its manifesto, we want to debate with the writer(s) of the manifesto. Accept the challenge if you dare,” he told a press conference in Petaling Jaya this afternoon.
‘Not my PM’
Meanwhile, when asked to respond to prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s claim that the opposition’s promises are like “madu beracun” (poisoned chalice), Muhyiddin Yassin was unfazed.
The Bersatu president stated he would prefer to focus on bringing Harapan’s manifesto to the people instead.
“The response of the general public from various levels has been extraordinary. I care more about that than (the statement from) Najib.
"I don’t even acknowledge him as prime minister.
“He can call it what he wants, whether it’s a poisoned chalice, recycled promises, illogical.
“But he cannot underestimate the opposition, calling us mad, stupid, bereft of intellectuals or experts who can analyse the economy. Don’t belittle us,” he said.
Muhyiddin stressed that what was important to him and the coalition was that all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion, see Harapan’s manifesto as an “offer they should not refuse.” -Mkini
