DAP claims sites under cyber attack

DAP claims its website and news portal are under attack.

"We wish to inform the media that the DAP website (Dapmalaysia.org) and its BM news portal (Roketkini.com) has been under attack by unknown parties.

"The service provider alerted us at 4.24pm on a massive DDoS attack which was targeting the server IP address directly. The attack was large enough to interrupt the network of the data centre," the party says in a statement.

A DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack is a deliberate attempt to disrupt an online service by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.

The party claims it is a concerted attempt to prevent the DAP from publishing important information and the public from accessing its website.

"We are currently working to get both sites back up online and will update on the situation when it recovers," it says.
