GE14 | Pakatan Harapan appears to be on track to capture the majority of parliament seats in Umno's southern stronghold of Johor, according to Merdeka Centre's final poll before Malaysians cast their ballots tomorrow.
The poll predicted that Harapan would win 14 out of the 26 parliamentary seats in the state.
In the last general election, Harapan won only five parliamentary seats in Johor, which is the birthplace of Umno, while BN captured 21.
Merdeka Centre said only seven Johor parliamentary seats were now considered safe for BN while another five were too close to call.
In Selangor, Merdeka Centre predicted that Harapan could win 19 parliament seats while three more were too close to call. BN has no safe seat in the state.
In the last general election, BN won five parliamentary seats in the state, Harapan won 13 while PAS won four.
The survey also found that BN's parliament seats would be reduced from three to one in Penang. Harapan is expected to win 12.
In Sabah, where BN won 22 out of 25 parliament seats in the last general election, only 14 seats were now considered safe.
Parti Warisan Sabah and its Harapan allies were expected to pick up five seats while six more were too close to call.
Merdeka Centre expected PAS to suffer a drubbing, with only two safe parliamentary seats in the country. Both in Kelantan.
Despite the gains, Merdeka Centre believes that the odds might be in BN's favour.
In total, it predicted that BN could win 100 seats, Harapan 83 seats while 37 more were too close to call. -Mkini
