Isa Samad has tendered his resignation as the Land Public Transport Commission (Spad) chairperson.
This was confirmed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who said Isa sent in the resignation letter two days ago.
“Isa Samad has resigned, effective immediately,” he said during a press conference at the Transport Ministry in Putrajaya today.
He was responding to a question from a reporter regarding this issue.
Last Wednesday, Loke had given Isa one week to resign as the Spad chairperson.
“I hope as a former minister, he can do the honourable thing and resign,” he had said.
Previously, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had announced that Spad will be abolished and that its responsibilities will be taken over by the Transport Ministry. - Mkini
