LAWYER MAKES SHOCK PREDICTIONS: ‘ONE OR 2 DAYS BEFORE POLLING DAY, NAJIB CAN DECLARE EMERGENCY OR HE MAY ANNOUNCE STEPPING DOWN TO GAIN SYMPATHY VOTES. IF HE KNOWS HE IS LOSING, HE COULD FLEE THE COUNTRY BEFORE THE RESULTS ARE ANNOUNCED’

Lawyer Mohd Haniff Khatri Abdulla last night gave a warning when he revealed four scenarios what caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak may do leading up to the polls on Wednesday.
This is to avoid the expected “Malaysian tsunami” and to ensure BN and Najib would remain in power, he added.
Haniff cautioned the crowd in Kluang, Johor, that Najib may use fraudulent means to win the election by possibly employing phantom voters.
“Hence to stop this fraud, voters must come out early to vote. You must come out, between 8am to noon, to vote so that there is a high voter turnout to avoid such fraud,” he said.
Similar reminders were made by Pakatan Harapan candidates, including its chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he added.
Haniff also claimed that Najib may use the controversial National Security Council Act 2016 (NSC Act), possibly one or two days before the polling day.
The lawyer contended that the law may be employed to declare an emergency so that Najib can stay in power.
However, Haniff said he was heartened by the statements made by armed forces chief and the inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun that members of the forces can vote independently.
He claimed that this showed the army and police are not with Najib, but with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the people.
Thirdly, Haniff continued, Najib may under pressure announce, a day or two before the polls, that he would step down as the (caretaker) prime minister.
The lawyer urged the voters not to be duped by such tactics and vote for Umno and BN.
He said the country wants to see Najib properly prosecuted for his misdeeds.
“He may strike out a deal with the potential successor not to prosecute him. However, the people should not fall prey to this and continue to vote for Harapan to ensure that he is properly prosecuted and a given a fair trial.”
Fourthly, Haniff said, Najib may flee the country hours before the results are announced, after knowing that he may not win the election.
If that happens, the newly elected prime minister, Mahathir, will seek for Najib’s immediate return in order for him to be properly prosecuted, he added.
Haniff urged the people not to be afraid of voting for change.
