Merdeka Centre's final poll: BN 100, Harapan 83, 37 too close to call

GE14 | In its final survey before tomorrow's general election, Merdeka Centre predicted that BN will win at least 100 parliament seats whereas Pakatan Harapan, 83.
According to the pollster, PAS will only be left with two parliament seats.
"The high number of marginal seats (37), implies that voter turnout will be a critical factor in determining the outcome of many seats on election day," it said.
However, Merdeka Centre said the odds are in BN's favour.
"Given the above findings, its (BN) retention of a plurality of support among Malay voters, alongside PAS' ability to retain at least one-quarter of the Malay vote share, we anticipate the BN will prevail in the election," it said.
Merdeka Centre said as of noon today, Malay support for BN was at 44.3 percent, while Harapan has 27.6 percent and PAS has 28.1 percent.
As for Chinese support, BN has 15.8 percent, Harapan has 84.2 percent while PAS has negligible support.
BN also has 41.3 percent of Indian support while Harapan and PAS have 56.5 percent and 28.1 percent respectively.
The support according to racial breakdown is for Peninsular Malaysia only.
However, the pollsters said things could still change in the last 12 hours of campaigning.
"For the record, there remained two important events that were to take place that is, the final address by BN chairperson and (caretaker) prime minister Najib Abdul Razak as well as one from Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamed.
"As our survey was concluded at noon on May 8, about 12 hours before the end of the official campaign period, it may not capture any last minute shift or changes that may take place in the final hours of the campaign," it said. -Mkini
