ANWAR PLAYS IT SMART: YOU WANT TO SUPPORT ME NAZRI? NO PROBLEM … BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON’T CAMPAIGN BASED ON LOUSY UMNO POLICIES

PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim has not rejected an offer by Umno Padang Rengas MP Nazri Abdul Aziz to campaign for him in Port Dickson.
Anwar said he welcomed anyone’s support and that all offers should be considered.
However, he said this will depend on PKR’s strategy for the by-elections.
“I welcome any support, but then when it comes to party strategy, party platform, that’s going to be decided by the party. I am not arrogant enough to reject any offer of help.
“Anyone who wants to help we should be prepared to consider.
“The issue is whether it is on the platform of Pakatan Harapan or PKR, which is certainly not the case,” he told reporters when met in Kuala Lumpur today.
Nazri made the offer to campaign for Anwar, as a gesture to bring Umno and PKR closer together.
This, Nazri said, was to help Umno get back into government quickly.
The Port Dickson by-election was triggered on Wednesday when PKR’s Danyal Balagopal Abdullah vacated the seat for Anwar, to pave the way for his return to Parliament.
Anwar was speaking to reporters after a dialogue with the youth at the Corus Hotel.
During the dialogue, the PKR chief stressed that he would not take the Port Dickson by-election for granted.
“I’m not arrogant. I don’t assume that Port Dickson is a natural base for PKR or Harapan.
“I’ll have to work very hard. Need to explain to the constituents why I chose Port Dickson, what I have to offer, why is it important to appeal to them to support and endorse my candidacy. That will be my task.
“I won’t say that since I’m a known figure, known all over the world, speak at international forums, so I won’t need to campaign. No, it’s not true. I’m going there as Anwar seeking the support of the electorate,” he said.
