A REPORT on a sex video implicating a minister has been submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in an effort to push the government to take action against the men in the video.
The forensic report by UK-based Verden Forensics was handed to Istana Negara this morning by a group of almost 50 representatives from Secretariat Suara Rakyat (SSR) and Pertubuhan Bangkit.
The report was commissioned independently by SSR chairman and Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam to ascertain the video’s authenticity.
Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz had admitted to appearing in the clip and alleged that Economic Affair Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali was his partner.
However, Azmin had repeatedly denied the allegations and said the video was a ploy to end his political career.
Speaking to reporters at Istana Negara today, activist Mohamad Ali Mohamad said he expected the Agong to play a role in upholding justice.
“As a country that practices constitutional monarchy and democracy, we believe that the people’s voice is paramount because we want to determine justice for all in our country, whether they are from lower, middle or upper class.
“Even if one is a minister, he cannot be excluded from the law. We don’t want that.”
He said he expected the prime minister and inspector-general of police to take action against Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president.
“We have submitted the findings to the prime minister many times. We hope he will take action. I hope (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador also can act decisively.”
He said this would be their final plea to the police.
He added that if there is no action in the coming weeks, he will distribute the forensic report to voters in the Gombak constituency, of which Azmin is the MP.
“If there is no action within this one or two weeks, we have printed 100,000 copies of the report to give to voters in Gombak.
“Let them be the judge as they voted for Azmin. They should know who he really is.
“We are a Muslim country, we want good leaders. A leader who can truly carry out his responsibilities and set an example for all Malaysians.”
Pertubuhan Bangkit president Shahrin Azlan said they submitted the report to the Agong because they felt that the prime minister did not show an interest in the case.
He said a copy of the report was submitted yesterday to Bukit Aman.
“After five days of waiting, there is no action by the prime minister. We need to step it up, so we are here at Istana Negara.
“I believe yesterday the report was given to Bukit Aman and Bukit Aman responded that they have submitted to the attorney-general (A-G). The A-G has not opened the case yet. Enough is enough. Today we want the A-G to open the case in court.
“Again, I request for the prime minister to remove Azmin from the cabinet.”
In July, Hamid said Cybersecurity Malaysia found the video likely to be authentic but could not conclusively identify the men involved through facial recognition software.
Eleven people have been detained over the case including Haziq and Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, who is PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary and Perak PKR chief.
All of them were subsequently released on police bail. THE MALAYSIAN INSIGHT
After brawl charge, PKR man wants Anwar’s ‘arrogant’ aide disciplined
The PKR disciplinary board has been urged to take action against party president Anwar Ibrahim’s political aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak following the allegation he assaulted an individual.
Bera division chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid said this is not the first time Farhash, who is also Perak PKR chief, had been accused of a criminal act.
“This arrogant behaviour, which disrespects the law, should stop immediately as it affects the party and the president’s good name.
“As such, I urge an immediate investigation by the disciplinary board without fear or favour, and stern action needs to be taken to safeguard the (party’s) honour and ensure all members have good personalities,” he added in a statement.
Zakaria, who is a PKR central leadership member, is aligned to party deputy president Azmin Ali.
In July, Farhash was arrested over the sex video implicating Azmin. The latter had claimed that the video was an inside job and part of a nefarious campaign to end his political career.
As for the latest allegation involving a riot in Ampang on Aug 31, Farhash said he would cooperate with the police.
Farhash also claimed his accuser was involved in a criminal court case involving his family.
Yesterday, Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said that about 12 to 14 men were involved in the Merdeka Day incident, where the suspect is alleged to have shoved the complainant in the face.
After being told to leave by the sports complex management, the complainant went to the motorcycle parking area outside, where 10 men allegedly attacked him with knives, helmets and chairs.
Farhash had described the viral message claiming he was involved in a fight was slanderby his political opponents.
PKR’s political bureau is meeting tonight and the incident involving Farhash is expected to be one of the topics discussed. – MKINI
