GEORGE TOWN: Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador today said he would order an inquest into the shooting of three men in a car chase in Batu Arang, Selangor.
He said while he was confident that his men had carried out their jobs according to the standard operating procedures, out of public interest, an inquest would be held to clear the air.
“There is nothing to hide. There are some assuming that I am hiding something and protecting my officers.
“So, let the inquest look into this,” Hamid said on the sidelines of a press conference in Bayan Baru here today.
Earlier this month, a patrol car ordered a car with three Sri Lankan men to pull over near a suburb in Rawang, Selangor. The men, however, refused to comply with police order to pull over.
A 7km chase ensued and the three foreign men opened fire at the chasing cops. Police returned fire and the three men were killed. - FMT
