Indonesian businessperson claims 'vile plot' in dad's deportation, cops deny arrest

An Indonesian businessperson's son has filed a police report regarding the manner in which his father Harijanto Karjadi was deported to the republic.
In his report, filed with the Sentul district police headquarters on Aug 28, Max Reyner Karjadi said he suspected the existence of a “vile plot.”
The 32-year-old businessperson claimed that his father was not sent back to Indonesia in the proper manner following his arrest at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Despite Indonesian media reporting that Harijanto, 65, was detained by the Interpol on July 31 and deported a day later, KLIA district police chief Zulkifli Adamsah denied any such arrest.

“We deny there was an arrest and we don't know what is his problem in Indonesia,” he told Malaysiakini.
Malaysiakini had also contacted federal CID chief Huzir Mohamed and Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin but have not received a response.
In his police report, sighted by Malaysiakini, Max said his father is believed to have been flown back to Indonesia via a private jet belonging to Indonesian business magnate Tomy Winata.
Winata's name had also been dragged into the criminal allegations against Harijanto.
In July this year, Winata made the news after his lawyer was accused of hitting a judge and panel member with a belt as they were ruling on a civil dispute in the Central Jakarta District Court.
Harijanto was one of the plaintiffs named by Winata in that particular case.
Meanwhile, Harijanto's business partner Aedi Nusantara described the tycoon's arrest and deportation as an abduction.
“This is a serious problem. It contravenes the law...,” he told Malaysiakini.
The Interpol had issued a red notice for Harijanto after Indonesian authorities accused him of being involved in embezzlement and money laundering in Bali.
Malaysiakini understands that the tycoon was detained at KLIA when he was about to leave for Hong Kong. - Mkini
