RIGHT OR WRONG, CORONER RULES ADIB KILLED BY ‘CRIMINAL ACT’ – WHILE ZURAIDA PLAYS TO THE GALLERY WITH PRAISES FOR THE VERDICT

THE coroner’s court today ruled that the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim was the result of a criminal act.
Coroner Rofiah Mohamad said the blunt force trauma to his chest was not caused by an accident but by two or three persons who had dragged him out of the emergency medical rescue service vehicle.
“I am also of the view that the police and the Federal Reserve Unit had failed to control the riots,” she said at the Shah Alam High Court.
She said based on the court’s findings, she is ordering the inspector-general of police and the attorney-general to conduct further investigation into the case

IT’S up to the police to take further action now that the verdict is out on what killed fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, said Local Government and Housing Minister Zuraida Kamarudin.
“I am very pleased that we and all the firefighters have used a wide range of channels to ensure that  Adib’s death had a proper inquest,” she said at the Shah Alam court complex today.
Thankfully, after more than 40 days of hearing, the coroner has concluded that Adib’s death was due to a criminal act. I now leave it to the police to take further action,” said Zuraida.
The minister was in court today to hear coroner Roziah Mohamad’s verdict on an inquest into the death of fireman Adib.
“I hope Malaysians can accept this decision. Do not let this be politicised and do not bring religious and racial issues into it. This is an issue of a Malaysian who died while on duty,” said Zuraida.
Zuraida said she would be meeting the family of the deceased later today.
“The father is still in Kedah. He is on the way here but I met with the aunt and brother just now and I will see him tonight when he arrives in Kuala Lumpur around 9pm.”
She said the family were thankful for the decision and that the verdict had brought “justice”.
An inquest began on February 11 to determine the cause of death of fireman Muhammad Adib, 24 who died after a riot at a temple in Seafield, Subang Jaya on Nov 27.
During the inquest, 30 witnesses including several experts were called and 137 exhibits submitted before the hearings came to a close on July 24.
Among the expert witnesses called were Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensic specialist Dr Ahmad Hafizam Hasmi, and UK-based senior consultant forensic pathologist, Prof Dr Shahrom Abd Wahid.
