Senior MACC officers transferred in restructuring exercise, say sources

Several senior officers have been transferred out from the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya as part of a restructuring exercise, according to sources.
Malaysiakini learned that among those to be transferred are Jusa-ranked officers.
Sources said topping the list is MACC certified integrity officer (CeIO) attached to Felda, Norazlan Mohd Razali, who is the commissions' new Johor chief.
According to a source, Norazlan's official transfer order was for him to carry out his duties as Johor state operations chief while attached to the MACC headquarters' Management Services Division.

"This is because his rank of Jusa B is much higher than what is supposed to be for state MACC directors," added the source.
Deputy chief of MACC's Special Operations Division (Spec Op), Hishamuddin Hashim, has been transferred to the Pahang MACC office as its new director.
For the record, Hishamuddin was also the former Selangor MACC deputy chief and investigating officer in the probe into DAP leader Eang Yong Hian Wah, which saw the death of Ean Yong's aide Teoh Beng Hock in 2009.
It is understood that his transfer is lateral, as the director post for states such as Pahang is designated for Jusa C-ranked officers.
Pauzan Ahmar, a government PTD officer who helmed the post of MACC Management Services Division director, would be transferred to the K-Ekonomi Division of the Economic Affairs Ministry.
Sources said the changes would also see two other senior officers transferred to the Selangor and Sarawak MACC offices as deputy state directors.
They are Azlan Sarkawi and Anuar Ismail, whose transfer orders to Selangor and Sarawak, respectively, would take effect today.
Azlan was the director of MACC's Records Division, while Anuar, according to a source, was the third in command in Spec Op.
According to sources, apart from Pauzan whose transfer order came from the Public Services Department, the rest were transferred under the order of newly-minted MACC chief Latheefa Koya.
It is understood that with the transfers, the incumbent MACC directors for Pahang and Johor, and deputy directors for Selangor and Sarawak, would be moved elsewhere including back to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya and as CeIO for Felda.
Malaysiakini has confirmed with various reliable sources on the transfers and found that Norazlan has reported for duty yesterday as it is a working day for Johor, while the others would clock in tomorrow.
Pauzan, meanwhile, had reported for duty at the ministry on Aug 22 as per his transfer order.
Reasons behind this restructuring exercise, however, have yet to be confirmed as Malaysiakini is still seeking Latheefa's comments on the matter. - Mkini
