Umno veep ticks off Harapan for continued delay in RTS project

Umno vice-president Mohamed Khaled Nordin has criticised the Pakatan Harapan government for the continued delay in the Rapid Transit System (RTS) project, a rail system linking Johor and Singapore to ease congestion.
This comes after Malaysia requested for another month of extension from Singapore to decide on the RM4 billion project. The postponement was to expire on Monday.
Khaled, in a statement today, reminded Harapan of its pledge during the last general election to help Malaysians working in Singapore.
"I hope pro-rakyat infrastructure projects in Johor will proceed smoothly without delays and excuses.

"We will wait and see what other excuses will Transport Minister Anthony Loke provide at the end of October," he said.
Khaled also accused Harapan of making various promises to Malaysians working in Singapore that it cannot fulfil.
"Harapan previously promised to do its best to bring back Malaysians working in Singapore.
"This is something that BN never promised because it is impractical and impossible to achieve," he said.
In March, Putrajaya requested for preliminary works for the RTS project to be suspended pending a review. Malaysia was to compensate Singapore for the delay. - mkini
