The Education Ministry has introduced an online education portal for students and teachers affected by school closures due to haze.
“All students and teachers can access the portal using the Login ID supplied to them.
“Through the portal, they can access education materials such as digital textbooks and other educational sources to be used for group and individual exercises and assessment,” the ministry said in a statement uploaded on Facebook today.
The ministry also prepared am education portal - EduwebTV - which contains video materials such as the curriculum for pre-school to high school level.
“Students and teachers can use EduwebTV as a reference centre to search for related topics,” it said.
Over a million students have been affected to date by a string of school closures over the past few days as a result of haze blanketing the country.
Schools are required to close when the Environment Department Air Pollution Index (API) exceeds 200, or ‘very unhealthy’ reading.
An API reading of 0-50 is deemed good, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201 - 300 (very unhealthy) and anything above 300 is deemed hazardous. - Mkini
