Youth wings of four parties back Umno-PAS alliance

The youth wings of MCA, MIC, Ikatan and Kongres India Muslim Malaysia (Kimma) have stated their support for the new Umno-PAS alliance.
The pledge by the four youth wings was made on stage after a town hall session at the "Himpunan Penyatuan Ummah" in Kuala Lumpur.
When invited by Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki to speak, MCA Youth vice-chief Yow Toh Gee reminisced about MCA and Umno's longstanding friendship.
As for MIC Youth chief R Thinalan, he described his party as a "loyal friend" within BN and welcomed "new friend" PAS.

The town hall session today was among several programmes for the two-day event to mark the signing of a political cooperation charter between Umno and PAS which will take place tomorrow.
Earlier, PAS Youth chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin urged MCA and MIC to speak up if both the parties did not want to uphold the charter.
He said that if Umno and PAS do not pursue Islamic-based justice and only focussed on the Malays, the MCA and MIC should hold demonstrations.
"Criticise and correct us. Should we begin our journey on the wrong path, we will become like what Pakatan Harapan has become today," he said.
Khairil also advised his new allies that the "recipe" to win Malay support was through Islam.
"If our MCA friends want to win over Chinese by using racism, you will lose. You are not as racist as the DAP.
"If you want to win over the Malays with liberalism, you cannot beat PKR. You can't beat Bersatu by trying to woo the Malays.
"You have to understand the recipe for success in attracting the Malays is in religion - Islam!" he said. - Mkini
