The duo become the first Malaysian mixed doubles pair to lift the title since the tournament’s inception in 2010.

The world No 4 pair became the first Malaysians to lift the mixed doubles title since the tournament began in 2010, after they overcame world No 10 pair Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje of Denmark.
They won 15-21, 21-17, 21-11 in 56 minutes at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, earning them US$39,500 (RM158,256) in prize money at the World Tour Super 500 tournament.
It was their third victory in four meetings against the Danes and their fifth career title. Their last win came at the Australia Open last November.
Their breakthrough in Jakarta also comes as a timely boost after they faced online criticism over their performances at the season-opening Malaysia Open and the India Open earlier this month.
They lost in the quarter-final in Kuala Lumpur and suffered a first-round defeat in New Delhi. - FMT
