Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail said she has never betrayed the mandate given by her constituents and never will, and vowed to continue to uphold their trust through her work in Parliament, community engagement and policy discussions.
Emphasising that the Ampang seat is a public trust rather than the property of any individual or group, she said she would continue to serve with responsibility, dignity and integrity as long as she retains the confidence of the people, while calling for stability and practical solutions over divisive political manoeuvring.
"The Ampang parliamentary seat does not belong to any individual or group. It is a public trust. As long as the people continue to place their confidence in me, I will continue to serve with full responsibility, dignity and integrity.
"Ampang needs stability, service and solutions, not politics that only deepen division and anxiety," Rodziah said in a statement posted on Facebook.
Ampang PKR today urged the lawmaker to vacate her parliamentary seat following her attendance at the Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) event of former party leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad yesterday.

In a statement today, division deputy chief Daing Reduan Bachok accused her of no longer being loyal to PKR’s leadership.
Daing affirmed that Ampang PKR will continue to defend the party, its president Anwar Ibrahim, as well as the people’s mandate against attempts to damage the reformasi struggle for the sake of “personal political interests”.
Political maturity
In her statement today, Rodziah said in a mature democracy, listening to differing opinions is not wrong, nor is asking questions an act of rebellion; similarly, thinking before making decisions is not betrayal.
She added that political maturity requires managing differences with wisdom, rather than fear or unfounded accusations.
"I have gone through a long political journey filled with challenges and sacrifices. As such, I am not easily shaken by accusations or labels simply because of differing views and approaches in addressing issues.
"What matters most at this time is ensuring that the country’s political stability is preserved so that attention can be focused on economic recovery, restoring public confidence, and safeguarding the welfare of the people from the impact of prolonged political tension," she added.
This morning, Utusan Malaysia reported PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh as saying that the PKR political bureau will discuss action against all PKR MPs who attended the Bersama launch event during their meeting tomorrow.

Besides Rafizi, Nik Nazmi and Rodziah, there were five PKR MPs at the event yesterday, namely Bakhtiar Wan Chik (Balik Pulau), Wong Chen (Subang), S Kesavan (Sungai Siput), Zahir Hassan (Wangsa Maju), and Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya).
Fuziah also claimed to have time-stamped evidence that Rafizi and Nik Nazmi had already joined Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) on Saturday, thereby violating their 2022 election bond with PKR.
She said the evidence refuted the duo's planned timeline to avoid paying PKR RM10 million in penalties each.
The election bond requires PKR candidates to remain with the party until the end of the term. - Mkini
