Bukit Aman NCID director Hussein Omar Khan says police raided 1,670 premises and made several arrests during the operation.

Bernama reported that Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan said the operation involved police raiding 1,670 premises and arresting five people under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking.
He said police separately arrested another six men, including a vape product supplier, following viral videos showing people suspected of being intoxicated after using drug-laced vape liquid.
Hussein said this included a video showing two men believed to be intoxicated at an apartment in Selangor, which led to the arrest of the two men and a vape product supplier.
“Police also seized a bottle of vape liquid suspected to contain ketamine during the raid,” he said.
Hussein said his department also acted after a live social media broadcast from Johor Bahru showed two men vaping.
“Three local men, including the two people in the video, were arrested. They admitted to conducting the live broadcast to receive gifts from viewers,” he said.
Hussein said his department was stepping up operations and would take stern action against anyone involved in distributing vapes containing prohibited substances.
He said the use of vapes among teenagers had reached a concerning level, adding that it could become a gateway to more serious drug abuse.
The public is urged to channel drug-related information to the department’s hotline at 012-208-7222. - FMT
