Dr Sim Kui Hian says the contract is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2027.

Sim, who is also Sarawak’s public health, housing and local government minister, said the contract is expected to be awarded with the issuance of the letter of acceptance in the first quarter of 2027.
“The construction is expected to take five years, and it is scheduled to be completed in 2032. I urged the federal department to expedite the project with the aim of completing it by 2030,” he said while winding up the debate for his ministry at the Sarawak assembly sitting.
Sim also thanked the Sarawak government for approving an advance of RM1 billion for the project, to be reimbursed by the federal government at a later date.
“The state government also approved an additional RM500 million plus for the procurement of medical equipment for the project,” he added. - FMT
